Frequently Asked Questions
do discount card sales replace the tiger fund direct giving fundraiser?
No, the discount card sale is not replacing the Tiger Fund. It is a supplement, as the needs of our students and teachers continue to grow, and the PTO is planning ahead for the expenses that will be associated with the K-8 transition next year. Our goal is 100% participation in the Tiger Fund, and we encourage all families to give to the Tiger Fund at a comfortable level. More information on the Tiger Fund is HERE. There is a donation button on the home page!
How Can I get more cards? How many can I request? Is there a limit to the number I can sell?
Email Karen Mann at Karen@ivesterjackson.com for more cards. You may request up to 15 additional cards at one time. You must turn in the money for those requested additional cards before you can request more. There is no limit to the number of cards you can request or sell overall, only a limit to the number of unpaid cards you can have at one time. We are limiting the number of unpaid cards distributed to any one student at one time because supplies are limited, and we want to make sure everyone who wants to sell cards, can.
HOW DO I RETURN MONEY AND/OR UNSOLD or unwanted CARDS?
- Put all money and cards in an envelope with your STUDENT'S NAME, TEACHER'S NAME, GRADE & DATE. This is absolutely critical, because we can't give your student credit if we don't know from whom the money is coming from. Money and cards can be in the same envelope.
- Send in money and/or unsold or unwanted cards to your child's teacher. He or she will deliver the envelope to the PTO so your child's earnings can be tallied and the returned cards distributed ASAP to other sellers.
how can my student increase his/her number of entries in the great wolf lodge drawing?
Every student selling 5 cards - and turning in money for the cards - by the last day of the sale (9/28/18*) will receive one entry in the drawing. Additional entries are earned based on number of cards sold and how early the money is returned, as follows:
*The sale was extended by one week (from 9/21 to 9/28) due to Hurricane Florence school closures
**The date to earn one additional "free" entry was extended from 9/14 to 9/18, the first day back at school following the Hurricane Florence school closures.
Some Examples:
- +1 entry for every additional five cards sold and money returned by 9/28/18
- +2 entries for every five cards sold with money returned by 9/7/18
- +1 entry for every five cards sold with money returned between 9/8/18 and 9/18/18**
*The sale was extended by one week (from 9/21 to 9/28) due to Hurricane Florence school closures
**The date to earn one additional "free" entry was extended from 9/14 to 9/18, the first day back at school following the Hurricane Florence school closures.
Some Examples:
- Alex sells 5 cards and turns in her money on 9/25. She will earn one entry in the drawing: One entry for each group of five cards sold/money returned by 9/28. (1x1) = 1
- Bryan sells 10 cards and turns in his money on 9/6. He will earn six entries in the drawing: One entry for each group of five cards sold/money returned by 9/28 (1x2), plus two additional entries for each group of five cards sold/money returned by 9/7 (2x2). (1x2) + (2x2) =6
- Charlotte sells 13 cards and turns in her money on 9/18. She will earn four entries in the drawing: One entry for each group of five cards sold/money returned by 9/28 (1x2), plus one additional entry for each group of five cards sold/money returned between 9/8 and 9/18 (1x2). (1x2) + (1x2) = 4
- Daniel sells 21 cards. He turns in money for five cards on 9/5; for six cards on 9/12; and for 10 cards on 9/20. He will earn seven entries in the drawing: One for each group of five cards sold/money returned by 9/28 (1x4); plus two additional entries for each group of five cards sold/money returned by 9/7 (2x1); plus one additional entry for each group of five cards sold/money returned between 9/8 and 9/18 (1x1). (1x4) + (2x1) + (1x1) =7
What if there is a tie for top earning classroom or student by grade?
If there is a tie for the Top Earning Student By Grade and/or the Top Earning Classroom, the recipients of the "grand" prizes in those categories - that is, the Amazon Fire Tablets and the Classroom Party and Yeti Rambler for the Teacher - will be decided by randomly drawing a name from among the tied students and/or classrooms. The tied students and/or classrooms not drawn will still receive a prize, but it may differ from the "grand" prize in the category.
is participation in the discount card sale required?
No, participation in the discount card sale is not required. If you do not want your student to participate, simply return the cards to your student's teacher. Make sure the cards are in an envelope labeled with student name, teacher and grade, so we can note that the student is not required to turn in money or additional cards.

Why do I have to turn in a form?
The form (which is attached to the parent information letter) serves two main purposes: (1) To let the PTO know that parents received the cards and information about the discount card sale, and (2) To let the PTO know whether our current supply of cards is adequate, or if we need to order more from the supplier. There is a lead time for card printing and delivery, and if we know there is demand for more cards than we currently have, we can act quickly to fulfill it.
