Calling All Green Thumbs - School garden needs volunteers
Spring is arriving quickly and we need to get the garden beds in shape. If you have any time to spare to help with the gardens, please contact Kathey deBree at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Also, Ms Noble is asking for 1-2 parent volunteers to come help supervise the 2nd graders while they work on the beds. Their connect times are 1-1:50pm. The details have not been finalized, but Ms Noble suggests possibly on Mondays and Fridays. Another possibility is working with the 3rd graders from 11:30-12:15pm. You would not need to commit to every week. Any help is welcome!
Read Across America is March 2nd
Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child, in every community, to celebrate reading on March 2, the birthday of beloved children's author Dr. Seuss.
On March 2nd all students and staff will stop what they are doing and the whole school will read. We encourage teachers to have parents volunteers or another staff member come in and read a book to their class. Wear your “Seuss” wear to school March 2nd. Wacky hats, Tacky socks , Red and White. Motivating children to read is an important factor in student achievement and creating lifelong successful readers.
The Lost and Found is OVERFLOWING! Come claim your items. The bin is located near the gym door.

Together in Education - Link Your Harris Teeter Vic Card
Thank you to all of the families who said yes to the PTO linking their Harris Teeter VIC cards to Davidson Elementary. We were able to link over 175 VIC cards based on the information collected! There are a handful that we were not able to link due to a missing phone number or a wrong last name....so please be sure to check your Harris Teeter receipt to see if your VIC card is linked at this time! (See picture to know whether yours is linked or not!).
If you shop at Harris Teeter and your VIC card is NOT currently linked to Davidson Elementary, please consider having yours linked! It is as easy as asking the cashier to link your VIC card to school 3377. Or you could go to the Harris Teeter website and link yours there as well.
We currently have 222 families linked to Davidson Elementary! This is already more than last year, so thank you for considering linking your card to DES (Harris Teeter Together in Education (TIE) 3377.
