Come out and cheer at this staff vs. staff showdown to benefit the Ada Jenkins Center! Doors open at 5:45 PM, with tipoff at 6:30 PM. The Hough High School Gym is about to get LOUD!

Per Mr. Jarrett's ParentSquare message, all students must remain in the stands unless they are participating in an event or are with a family member purchasing concessions. Students will not be allowed outside the gym without an adult.
Food Vendors for April 26 Artfest and International Fest Announced!
Don't worry about dinner on Thursday, April 26 - the night of Artfest and International Fest. These great vendors will be serving up something delicious AND donating a portion of their proceeds to DES!
Last K-8 Community Meeting of the School Year is Monday, April 16
The last K-8 Community Meeting of the school year is on Monday, April 16 at 6 PM in the Music Room. This meeting is targeted to the parents of 3rd and 4th grade students, but all are welcome to attend.
Meetings will resume in the 2018-2019 school year.
Artfest Submission Deadlines Extended
Does your student need more time to create his/her masterpiece? The deadline for photography is now Friday, April 13, and the deadline for other art submissions is now Friday, April 20.
Volunteers Still Needed for International Artfest
The DES International Artfest is on Thursday, April 26 from 5 - 7 PM, and we need lots of volunteers to help make it a success! We are especially in need of volunteers to mount student artwork leading up to Artfest.

Share Your International Flair at International Fest!
Does your family have a special connection to another country or culture? Set up a table in the Media Center on April 26 from 5-7 PM (concurrent with Artfest) and share it with DES! The Sign Up Genius is here: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0f4badad2da7ff2-desinternational
In past years families have displayed posters, books, examples of crafts, traditional clothing, local products, etc. and/or offered small bites of traditional foods. This is a really fun way to share your family's heritage or just enjoyment of another culture with the school! Some possible countries are already listed on the sign up, but feel free to add your own.
