Trivia Night is Back!
Come out for this fun parent social on Saturday, November 15th at 7 pm, at the Crossfit Eternal location off Depot Street in Davidson. The cost is a $25 donation per person to the DES PTO. We are doing tables with a maximum of 8 people this year to make it easier to hear and manage, so find 7 of your favorite (smartest) friends and join in! Thank you to Crossfit Eternal for donating their space to host an amazing event like Trivia Night. Email Carly Schiano at firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve a table.
Lobby Guard System Keeps Students Safe
Beginning Monday, Oct. 20, you'll have a chance to acquire a Lobby Guard key fob to use for checking into school quickly. Simply bring your driver's license and $5 (cash or check made out to DES PTO) to the Front Office, and a PTO volunteer will be on-hand to help you register. Key fobs will be processed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10-11 a.m. while supplies last. The Lobby Guard system prohibits unauthorized visitors from gaining access to the DES campus.
Use Key Fob for Quick Check-in at Multiple Schools
You may select the one or multiple schools you frequent when registering a key fob. Then, when checking into that/those school(s), you will no longer need a photo ID to enter the campus(es). Simplify your check-in routine, register next week!

From Your 2014-15 PTO President . . .
On behalf of the PTO Board, I would like to welcome you, your student and your family to Davidson Elementary. I hope you will find our school to be a wonderful place for your student to grow, learn and create lasting friendships. Davidson is a unique town where education is valued and relationships blossom. Here at DES, I trust you will experience both.
The PTO's goal is to enrich each student's experience while supporting staff and parents. The upcoming school year will be the first year the PTO is sponsoring a new science lab. The science lab will be the sixth connect class. Every six days, students will rotate through art, music, physical education, computer, media and science lab. This initiative was presented to the PTO by Mr. Jarrett and his staff. In partnership, we can bring hands-on science experiences to students. Other PTO events include Tigers on the Prowl, Bingo Night, Girls' Night Out, Boys' Night Out, cultural events and International ArtFest. These events help foster community engagement and school spirit.
The PTO is a small army of volunteers. We would love to have each and every family involved. Be sure to complete the 'Two Hours of Power' form (distributed in PTO Packets). CLICK HERE to access a form. Committee chairs will contact you regarding the areas you marked and help you connect. If at any time you want to get more involved, please contact me or any board member.
